He specialised exclusively in vascular surgery following his appointment as Professor of Surgery in Manchester in 1989. He now has 25 years consultant experience in complex vascular surgery. He has perhaps the biggest practices in carotid surgery in the UK and specialises in reconstructions of the aorta including all the arteries to the brain, viscera and legs.
