K.Hariharan

Mr K Hariharan  practices privately at the Spire Hospital in Cardiff and St Josephs Hospital in Newport. Mr Hariharan is an accredited trainer for the South Wales post-graduate training programme and a clinical teacher at The University of Wales, College of Medicine. He lectures at Dundee University for the Mch Orthopaedics Course and is on the national database for teachers for the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.Mr Hariharan is Chairman of the Education Committee in the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Clinical interests:

• Bunion surgery including complex bunions and recurrent bunions
• All lesser toe deformity corrections
• Ankle, subtalar,& toe joint arthroscopy including minimally invasive keyhole fusion of joints in the foot and ankle
• Tendoscopy  and ligament reconstruction in the foot and ankle
• Sports injuries including dancer’s injuries of the foot and ankle, minimally invasive ankle sprain surgery
• Ankle and toe joint replacements
• Complex lower limb deformity correction
• Computer assisted deformity correction including congenital deformity post traumatic deformity and post surgical deformity of the tibia, ankle, hind foot
• Minimally invasive forefoot surgery for arthritis and bunions

Mr Hariharan has extensive research interests with a large portfolio of presentations to distinguished foot and ankle audiences. His main research interests are foot biomechanics, joint replacement in the forefoot, rheumatoid arthritis, foot and ankle trauma, and foot ankle biomechanics.
